CERTIRIDE SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Beta Version 1.2
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
CertiRide is intended to assist users in reducing mobile-device distraction while driving.
CertiRide cannot make driving safe and cannot replace the driver's attention, judgment, responsibility, or compliance with applicable law.
By using CertiRide, you acknowledge and understand the following:
1. The driver remains solely responsible for safe operation of the vehicle.
2. CertiRide cannot guarantee that every protected application will always be detected or blocked.
3. CertiRide cannot guarantee that Driving Mode will always activate or deactivate at the intended moment.
4. GPS, location services, device sensors, Android services, accessibility services, operating-system behavior, hardware limitations, network conditions, and third-party software can affect CertiRide's operation.
5. CertiRide may experience delays, errors, interruptions, false detections, or failures.
6. You must not rely on CertiRide as your sole method of preventing distracted driving.
7. You must not interact with CertiRide, attempt to change its configuration, or attempt to bypass restrictions while operating a vehicle.
8. If interaction with the device is necessary, the driver should safely stop and park the vehicle before doing so.
9. Passenger certification must only be used when the person using the device is genuinely a passenger.
10. False passenger certification or other attempts to bypass CertiRide can defeat the purpose of the application and create a serious safety risk.
11. CertiRide does not guarantee prevention of collisions, injuries, property damage, traffic violations, device misuse, distracted driving, or death.
12. Parents, guardians, household owners, employers, fleet managers, and other persons configuring CertiRide remain responsible for determining appropriate settings and supervision.
13. A failure, malfunction, incompatibility, security issue, disabled permission, operating-system change, battery or background-execution restriction, or third-party application change may affect CertiRide's ability to operate as intended.
14. CertiRide may use background location and a foreground service to continue driving detection when the application interface is not visible, and may attempt to restore monitoring after a device restart. Android or device-manufacturer restrictions may nevertheless delay, interrupt, or prevent background operation or automatic restoration.
By selecting the Safety Acknowledgment checkbox and continuing, you acknowledge these limitations and agree not to treat CertiRide as a substitute for attentive and responsible driving.
